Bundala National Park

Bundala National Park is an internationally important wintering ground for about 197 species of brilliant coloured migratory water birds in Sri Lanka. The greater flamingo, which migrate in larger flocks over 1000 individuals, is a spotlight in these grounds. This thorny scrub jungle is home to spotted deer, the rare pangolin and the playful grey langur monkey. Bundala is designated as a wildlife sanctuary and a biosphere reserve by UNESCO, making it the fourth biosphere reserve in Sri Lanka. It is simply the world at the edge where the land, the sea, and the wetlands meet.
